Potion brewing profit calculator

Select the potion, tier and enchantment, then inspect every ingredient. Brewing recipes can combine returnable materials with rare components that do not receive a resource-return discount. Increasing the return rate only reduces the eligible part of the bill.

Match the production location, daily bonus, focus and specialization settings to your character. When comparing two potion families, compare the full recipe and output quantity. A cheaper ordinary ingredient mix can still lose to an expensive non-returnable component.

Suppose an illustrative recipe has 10,000 silver of returnable materials, a 6,000-silver non-returnable component and a 500-silver final station charge. With 40% returns, the effective batch cost is 10,000 × 0.60 + 6,000 + 500 = 12,500. Discounting every ingredient would instead show 10,100, understating cost by 2,400.

If this teaching recipe yields ten potions sold at 1,500 each with 4% tax, net revenue is 14,400 and profit is 1,900 per craft, or 190 per potion. Use the real recipe output count in AU; these numbers are chosen to show how an incorrect return assumption changes the decision.

In this example a 2,000-silver rise in the rare component turns profit into a 100-silver loss. More focus cannot discount that component. Check its observation time and available quantity before comparing small differences in ordinary ingredient prices.

Keep journal contribution, output revenue and ingredient returns separate when reviewing the result. Use manual overrides for verified prices and include any extra selling fees. Your initial purchase must cover whole recipe quantities before returns arrive, even when the expected net consumption is lower.
